How to Sing on Tempo

If you have ever heard someone playing or singing out of the tempo, you know that it affects the sound of the whole song. After you have picked a song, you have a possibility to use Yousician’s practice mode. In practice mode, you can adjust the speed of the song according to your liking. This way you can gradually increase the tempo until you have reached the optimal speed. If there’s one particular part in the song which you would like to rehearse, you can loop that section to repeatedly practice that part. If you are not quite sure how you are tackling the song right now, you can use our auto-speed function. Auto-speed listens to your singing and adjusts the tempo according to your phase.

No one will notice if you miss one word from the lyrics, right? You might also be wondering what this has to do with staying in tempo? When you don’t have work on remembering each separate line, so you can focus on getting your rhythm and notes right. At some point, you will probably remember the lyrics without even giving a glance at the screen, but this little aid will help you get started. It also prepares you to take control of the karaoke nights and end up on YouTube, how cool is that?

How to Become a Singer

Having a talent helps you to develop singing skills, but what really makes the difference is when it becomes a daily routine. You should find some time every day to focus only on singing. It does not have be hours of vocal scales exercises, even 10 minutes will help you to make progress. Yousician measures your activity and has a goal for you to reach every day. The daily goal can be set from 10 minutes all the way to one hour. You can also set your daily goal as stars. The stars are collected by performing songs, and the number of stars depends on your level of performance.

You don’t have to limit the routines to using our app. After you have discovered a new warm-up technique or way to control your breathing, you can keep practicing among your daily activities. You can pay attention to your breathing while you are waiting for a bus or warm-up your body in the morning in the same way as when you are getting ready for a song. This does not help you only with singing, but your overall energy and mindset during the day. If you are into physical exercising, it is definitely helpful regarding your lung capacity and singing.

It is even better if you have someone to share the learning experience with. Your friend does not necessarily have to be learning singing, but maybe to play the guitar along with you? This way you can help each other to keep improving and make your new hobbies more social as well. Maybe you will eventually start a band during the process and make it even more enjoyable?

Factors that Affect Singing

When you are searching for tips to help you start singing, you will come across multiple different factors. Someone will tell you that your breathing technique is wrong and someone shows that you are leaning towards a wrong way while you are singing. Then you hear that you should skip that cup of coffee and in addition, you are supposed to have an understanding of scales?

All that does not really encourage you to start developing a new skill. Music is about having fun, not making it deadly serious and scaring off all new potential musicians. Yousician gives you a learning journey which does not throw you straight away to those super-funny theory lessons, but lets you to actually try out your voice first. Don’t get us wrong, there will be some theory as well, but it will be presented in a way that you don’t want to cry yourself to sleep later.
