21-year-old singer-songwriter Declan McKenna made some of his biggest fans’ dreams come true when he performed for them during our first ever Yousician Artist Session!
Declan kicked off this new Yousician series with an intimate virtual concert for 25 lucky contest winners and performed music from his new album, Zeros. The fans were chosen via an Instagram contest and had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of hearing his hit song “Brazil”, new singles “Daniel, You’re Still A Child”, “Beautiful Faces” and his unreleased track “Sagittarius A*” two days before the album was released. One of the winners was even celebrating their birthday and got a special shout out from Declan!
Some guests got to ask Declan himself some questions during a one-on-one Q&A. One fan asked him what the hardest song to write was: “It was Beautiful Faces, weirdly… It kind of tricks you sometimes when you’re writing songs, at least I find, you get one bit so easily that the rest of it is impossible. And I had the whole chorus and this whole vibe going, but just the verses were so unbelievably whack and it took ages.”
